La Industria del Automóvil global: reindustrialización y proteccionismo
Main Article Content
Abstract
With the appearance of the covid-19 Pandemic in the spring of 2020, the Global Automobile Industry started an important deviation from the trend that had been observed for the last four decades. First, production suffered an unprecedented paralysis, followed by a restructuring that exposed the extent of the dispersion of its production chain. In particular, the assembly of high-tech components involves steps taking place all around the world. During this period, automotive manufacturing in the People's Republic of China shortened the industrial learning process and developed an industry based on its own brands and on implementing high-tech products. In this manner, China is becoming the center of innovation and change. As a result of the competition for large markets, China is facing rejection from the governments of the United States and the European Union in the form of protectionist policies. In the present work, we observe the characteristics of this crisis and the new reindustrialization that has technological supremacy as its pivot.
